My Next InfoBarrel Goal – Reach 500 Articles
I’ve been slowly adding articles to InfoBarrel again and I’m getting close to reaching the 300 article mark now. But, what have I learnt so far? Well I’ve learnt that my shorter articles which range from the 350 to 450 word count, have not been getting as many view. My 500 word count articles, seem to get the most views. I have got about a dozen 1000 word plus size articles, which again seem to get lots of views.
But writing 1000+ word articles, though is a little bit too time consuming for me at the moment. I am only going to right this size of article, when I find fantastic keywords with low competition in the search engines. The month of July has come to an end and my Infobarrel earnings are up from June, but they are still slightly down from May. This is probably down to me not continuously adding new articles to Infobarrel and my revenue share being down due to me not hitting the 30 point score target on InfoBarrel.
I only started writing for InfoBarrel again at the middle of the month, after a month’s lay off and this has really eaten into my total articles published count.
My next Infobarrel goal is to get to 500 published articles and join the small group of people who have already achieved it. I really haven’t spent any time back linking my Infobarrel articles. But when I get to around 500 InfoBarrel articles, I plan on going back and working on back linking my better performing articles.
I’ve been a member on Infobarrel since the beginning of the year and I have already noticed that the website has grown immensely in such a short time period. The Infobarrel writers who stick at it and keep writing articles are going to reap the benefits in years to come. Hopefully I am going to be one of them. Setting yourself a goal is a fantastic way to ensure that you keep writing articles. My overall aim is to get my published articles into the thousands.
If you are thinking about joining Infobarrel to plan on making lots of cash straight away, forget about it. Infobarrel is a long term thing, I’m hoping by xmas to get my Infobarrel income into the hundreds. But my first goal is to get to 500 articles, then start work on some serious back linking.
I went through a phase where I cranked out tons of articles for Infobarrel. The last few weeks I have started the backlinking process and do not really intend to start writing substantial amounts of new articles until I get most (if not all) of my current articles on the first page of google. For the keywords I target, I figure I need 50-75 backlinks to get to the first page (and hopefully stay there) so it’s taking me awhile as I basically add one new backlink to each article (several hundred) in the morning, and write up a few quality articles for backlinking on blogging underground and postrunner. Many of my articles are doing the google dance but seem to be moving in the right direction.

Thanks Mace, I plan on getting to the 500 article mark. Then going back myself and backlinking my better performing articles.
Plus I’m giving my articles a chance to age, which will hopefully make ranking a lot easier.
I agree, writing 1000 word articles can be cumbersome. Most of mine so far end up in the 500-700 range.
No where near as many articles out there as you but I keep plugging away. Though the amount is small, I’m starting to see growth/success.
You’re right in that Info Barrel is growing fast and it’s going to steam roll at some point as more and more people realize its potential.
Back linking definitely helps and I apply at least a small amount to all of my as I post them. I also plan on going back and adding more as time permits.

Thanks Kevin, its growth is amazing. The amount of article titles being unvailable is growing fast as well. So you need to grab as many of them as you can.
My article writing progress as slowed down a little, over the past few weeks. I really do need to get a move on if I’m to reach 500 articles before the end of 2010.
